Government-issued identification documents that contain a photo, signature, physical description, and identifying number

If the notary personally knows the witness, only one witness is required. The witness must also personally know the signer. The notary must verify the ID of the witness and record their details in the journal.
If the notary does not personally know the witness, two credible witnesses are required. Both must present valid ID and swear to the same statements under oath.

The notary must record the witness signature, ID type, issuing agency, and document numbers in the notary journal as per Government Code section 8206.
The following documents are NOT acceptable forms of ID
The name on the ID must match or exceed the name on the documents
